Earth Star Fungi - all found around the base of one tree at the start of the path. 3/8/16
25/7/18 Some other exploding fungi things we found in a ring on the easement.
Boletes (the ones with spongy underneaths)
Rhubarb Bolete (Boletellus obscurecoccineus)
Phlebopus marginatus (largest mushrooms in Australia!) These guys are all over the place and they are huge!! They look quite spongy underneath and so far they have come up in August and February.
1/11/17 I think this is a white punk (Laetiporus portentosus)? Not sure if this counts as a spongy bottom or a leather! This was bigger than my head and grew very quickly! It seems to grow in the same spot every year then fall off. I heard that Indigenous people used it to carry fire from one place to another so I dried it and tried. It was OK.
Leathers
Found these pretty fungi on a fallen log - no idea what they are! Maybe the white ones are oyster mushrooms (Pleurotis sp. Decurrent gills)?
Golden Curtain Crust (Stereum ostrea)?
Not sure if these count as leathers? 16/07/17
Coral and club fungi
8/6/19
Possibly Rosette fungus (Podoscypha petalodes?) or Ramaria filicicola?
8/6/2019 Other interesting slimy fungi.
Gibellula
23/4/24 - a weird fluffy thing I found on some firewood!
